Tell me a little bit about yourself!

My name is Elisa. I’m 27 years old and live in Philadelphia, PA  with my sister! I have an awesome boyfriend, Craig, who I have been with for 2 ½ years! I love to read, write, design and watch movies.

Sammy’s Fabulous Jewelry has 2 retail locations; in Huntingdon Valley, PA and Northfield, NJ. And, we have an awesome website too! sammyfab.com We mainly sell fashion jewelry and accessories, but we also sell formal prom dresses, gowns and cocktail dresses. We are always looking to expand our stores and add new products. What things would you like to see?

What inspired you to start your shop?

We are a family-owned business since 1935. I went to work for my parents after college, and I decided to bring the shop online last year. I love working with my family, and I hope to continue to grow our online presence :)

How did you come up with your shop’s name?

Sammy is my grandfather’s name; he started the business, so we thought it would be a nice way to preserve his memory!

Thank you

via
I would like to take this time to thank all those brave souls who have served in the military, thank you for sacrificing your lives to protect the rest of us, to serve your country and make it proud. I also want to thank all the families of the military, for their support and love towards our soldiers.

In almost every family nowadays there is a soldier, a hero. In my family we have my Dad♥

My Dad was a Navy man, my family and I were lucky that we didn't have to relocate or anything like that, but I do remember not seeing my Dad sometimes during the weekends or sometimes for a week or two. If he had to go somewhere close by we would all go and stay on base, it was very boring for most of the time but I was glad to spend time with my family.

As I am writing this post I have realized that I truly do not know much about my Dad's navy career, other than a few stories here and there. So I will make it my mission to ask more and know more about it and him. It would be a shame not to know about my Father, and the interesting life I am sure he had.

I love you Dad! Thank you for your services.

Sunday Social #41

Well what an eventful day today was! Had some family over for our first BBQ at the apartment, and even after all the stressing out, cleaning and preparing the food everything went well! I honestly feel like a grown up now. Hope every one is having a good Sunday like me :)

What is your best summer memory as a kid?

 photo 3C72FA49-F217-435D-9BB5-9DB159D4206E-949-00000131A9085B04_zps29dcf8e5.jpg

When I was 6 my whole family (on my Dad's side) we went to Puerto Penasco in Mexico. It was the BEST summer of my CHILDHOOD.  The reason being is because this trip was the first one that I ever took, not only that it was the first time I ever laid my eyes on the ocean. I think that was also the first time I feel in love, the smell of the ocean, the way the sand felt underneath my toes, the warmth of the sun on my skin, I love it all.

What is your favorite summer drink?

I love my anything fruity, but now that I am of age I prefer something fruity but with alcohol :)
via
My favorite is a mango margarita! Yum!
What is your favorite summer TV show?

Which ever one I can find on Netflix. That's actually how the boyfriend and I got into:

What is the best outdoor summer activity?

via

Oh you mean aside from tanning?

Mmm that's a hard one, haha no just kidding, I love doing as much as I can outdoors. I love riding my bike, running, hiking, I love it all!!
What are your summer vacation essentials?

Well given the fact that I have not been on an actual vacation in probably 3 years (yes, very sad I know) I am no expert. BUT this is what I always used to take:

1. suim suit (because there is always a pool in the hotel)
2. something dressy (so you can have more options when going out to eat)
3. an extra outfit (just in case)
4. your phone charger (duh)
5. I always take my own pillow (that's just me)

H&S Redemption ?

Back in January Influester sent me the "Head and Shoulders VoxBox" which I was not too happy about, then I was contacted by Kim from Head and shoulders. She asked me why I didn't like the product and after a couple of emails she asked for my address to send me some other Head and Shoulder products that she thought I might like. After a couple of weeks I completely forgot about it until I received a package.

 photo 32b716ae-d258-44fb-aa73-e8d3529ddc41_zps76a2520d.jpg

I thought it was from a giveaway I had won during the same time but to my surprise it was from Kim. And let me tell you, I was totally shocked that she didn't send one, or two, but THREE products and not only that but they were also FULL size!!! So I was very happy about that. Here is what she sent me:

Head and Shoulders Shampoo and Conditioner  Head and shoulders two in one classic clean

Like I have said before I REALLY dislike products that are 'two in one' they just don't work for me so of course I gave that one to my boyfriend and I kept the other two. Here is what we have to say about the products:

 photo 41FD7DEF-8845-4773-9013-F666B834F1F1-5049-00000400432B2160_zpsded7e7fb.jpg
Head and Shoulders two in one classic clean:

My boyfriend REALLY liked it. He said the product made his hair soft and shiny. He is not into 'fruity' hair products so he appreciate it the lack of smell. He also liked the fact that once the two in one is running low you can just have it standing on the lid and it won't fall.

Head and Shoulders Shampoo and Conditioner classic clean.

I liked this product a lot better than the other one, just after the first try I felt my hair smoother and it actually did feel clean (no residue, no anything) which I really loved. It also did leave my hair shiny AND there were a lot of less knots on my hair. But just like with the previous product I received from Head and Shoulders I had to use a little bit more conditioner to get the work done. So I finished the conditioner way before the shampoo. I am a little picky with conditioner so it might just be me.

But overall I am a  lot more happier with this product than the last one. So I might give Head and Shoulders' products another try.

Thank you Kim for sending me these!

Beauty Freebies

As a college student I can't really afford to buy nice things all the time, so I LOVE it when I can get my hands on some freebies! (I mean, who doesn't?!?) So today I am going to share with ya'll an easy way to get beauty products for free thanks to Target!.

Simply go to:

This will take you to this page:

All samples available will be listed under the 'Categories' on the left side of the screen. Most of the time they only have 1 sample at a time and it is usually a beauty product. But I have seen other ones in there as well, such as baby products. On the left side of the screen you will also find the instructions you need to follow to claim your sample. This is what the "survey" looks like:

Just keep in mind that you HAVE to qualify to get the sample, sometimes you will and sometimes you won't. If you don't it's OK! Do not give up, just keep on checking on the website for more samples :)

The only downfall to these samples is that they take 8-10 weeks to be delivered, but when you finally get them they are a nice surprise :) My sample finally came in the mail today, here is what I got:

I got  Suave's Moroccan infusion Shampoo and Conditioner.

Both are 2 FL. OZ, I have never tried this product before so I am excited that I get to try it for free! And without having to buy the full size bottle, you know, just in case I don't like it!

Have you gotten your sample?

Girl Booklet turns ONE! [and a giveaway]

How time flies! It feels like it was only yesterday that I was struggling to come up with my blog's name, and I was trying to figure out how to work blogger. When I first started blogging I didn't know if I would like it or not, in fact I had a different vision for my blog. But as time has passed I feel like I have found my voice and I can come up with topics for the blog with ease. And to me that is worth celebrating!

Another thing that is worth celebrating today? Mine and my boyfriends two year anniversary! Yes I started my blog on this day on purpose, so I could actually remember the date. I understand that my boyfriend and I could break up and I would forever be stuck with this date, but I do not want to think about that right now. I just want to focus on the positive and on the present.

We have been through some ups and downs just like any other couple, and sometimes, to be honest I feel like there have been more downs than ups. But we have managed to make it work and hope we continue to do so for many many years.

And because this day is twice as special it means TWICE the celebration! So while I am out and about celebrating my anniversary with my boyfriend I also want to celebrate my blogiversary with my readers!!! And thanks to these LOVELY/INCREDIBLE/BEAUTIFUL ladies now you can! They have come together to give you this giveaway!
