Class of 2014

After 4 and a half years full of  a lot of studying, a lot of projects and papers to write, a lot of headaches and stressful moments and  a lot of ups and downs on Saturday, May 10th 2014 I set foot on New Mexico State University for the very last time.

I graduated with a major in Marketing and a minor in Advertisement and minor in Management.

Of course right after the ceremony and ever since then people have been asking me "so how does it feel to be done with college?" and my answer has been the same "doesn't feel like I am done." I feel like I still have something else to do, like register for my fall classes or start saving to buy my books or something of some sort. Hopefully the feeling will go away once I ACTUALLY receive my diploma in the mail or when it's fall and I no longer have to go to class while my coworkers and friends still do.

Fellow Alumni, did you experience the same feeling? Or the moment that you put your cap and gown you felt relieved because you knew the day was finally here?

Of course I couldn't have achieved this big mile stone in my life if it wasn't for my parents. From their love and support to their (sometimes emotional) pep talks I kept my eyes on the prize. I didn't want to disappoint them, so I worked my butt off at work and at school, so they would know that they made a hard working woman out of me. I am the youngest of 3 children and the first one to graduate from college, after a year of attending college my brother decided to take some time off, and now, years later he is back at it and is working on getting his Bachelor's in Accounting. My sister knew right away that college was not for her, instead she spends her time living in Oakland, California, working and traveling around the world. She just recently went to Puerto Rico and is currently planning her trip to Germany.

I just want the American dream of having a full time job, have a big house and at some point get married and have children. And of course do a lot of traveling. Might be a mediocre dream, but it is MY dream and I am slowly checking off the boxes on my list. Not only have I checked off my "graduate from college box" but I have also checked another big box off my list: get a full time job. A couple of months ago I got offered a job opportunity that I could NOT pass away. ( I will go into more detail on my next post)

There have been a lot more things that have happened to me in the last couple of months that I cannot wait to share with ya'll! But in the meantime what have YA'LL been up to?
