Party of two

 photo 806206e1-2949-49b8-b6a7-e05898bb3f69_zpsc90cae5f.jpg

I have been blessed to have two best friends who have been there for me, through the good, the bad and the ugly. Of course each in their own different way but there for me nonetheless.I feel lucky to have them  in my life, and I honestly wouldn't trade them for anything or anyone.

I find it to be a blessing and a curse for  both of them to have the same birthday (they are one year apart) a blessing because it means I only have to memorize one date and a curse because there is not enough time to spend with both of them. And although I already gave them their presents I would also like to include the following letters as part of their gift:

Dear Amanda:

I have known you for around 8 years and although we have never seen each other every single day, the times that we do see each other are full of happiness, silliness, and craziness. We are alike in sooo many ways and also we are sooo different from each other. But that is one of the many things I love about us,  among the fact that we have never been jealous of each other, or gotten in a fight. Yeah sure we have our disagreements on plenty of topics but none of those disagreements have come in between our friendship.  This may sound weird (given the fact that I am 22) but somehow you keep me young, you take me back to those days when we didn't have a worry about the world. I hope that feeling NEVER goes away, even when we are old ladies :)

So thank you, for letting the kid in me run wild and free.

I love you.

Dear John:

You are one of a kind, I will start with that. Our friendship has grown alongside of us, I do not think that we were ever meant to be friends but somehow we have managed to make it work. I have known you for  almost 5 years and I cannot remember how my life was without you, I hope that my life doesnt go back to that and I hope we will be in each other's lives forever. You have been there to pick up the pieces after each heartbreak and disappointment, and you have no idea how much your friendship has helped me get through those bad times. You have been my rock, sounds cliche I know but it is true. You have given me plenty of headaches, but you have also given me plenty of days full of happiness and laughter.  I

So thank you, for being my side even when I did not deserve it.

I love you.

And happy birthday to both of you! I wish you both the best that this world can offer. May all your wishes come true.

MY COLLEGE LIFE 101. PART 7

Yesterday was my  first day back to school, and I by the end of the day I was soo exhausted! I had to get up at 6 am to get ready and leave the house at 8 am to beat all the traffic and be able to find a good parking space in the free lot on campus, which happens to be around 15-20 minutes away from my class which was at 9:30. To my surprise there was NO traffic so I was extremely early so I took my time going to my class and taking it all in.

via

My first class (Marketing) only lasted about 30 minutes so I was done at 10 and  my next class was not until 1pm so I pretty much just chilled in the computer lab typing up some blog posts and trying to kill time until I could meet up with a friend (and coworker) who also goes to my school so we could have lunch together.

 photo C414148A-B8EF-4B4B-BEF2-C29A189E1AF7-1733-000000C8392AD0D7_zps7de15f6a.jpg

After my 1 o'clock class was over I had another one back to back (Economics, then Management), the last one was done at 3:30 and my last class (Finance) was not until 6 so I had plenty of time to kill, so I headed to the gym. I was there for only an hour, after the gym I wanted to relax and enjoy the nice weather out so I sat on the grass and read my book until class started

My last class ends at 8:30 but we were out early (Thank goodness) I soon as I got home I ate and then went straight to bed! Monday's are gonna be exhausting since those are the days when I have my late class (I only go to school Mondays and Wednesday)  and I gotta walk back and forth from my classes to my car since I gotta change books ( I can't carry all of them, they are so heavy :( and to change to my work out clothes) I walked to my car twice. So far I seem to like my teachers but I can tell that Economics and Finance are REALLY going to be a pain in the you know what! So wish me luck!

Are you also a student? How's school going so far?

Ps. If you are a student don't forget to check my my "Fashion Faux Paus: Student Edition"

Sunday Social #52

Why yes, it has been a little quiet around the blog again, nothing bad has been happening. I have just been busy with work and enjoying my last week of freedom before school starts (tomorrow.) I always get a little nervous but also excited to start a new school year so wish me luck!

Also before I get to today's Sunday Social I would like to take a moment to share some sad news. Yesterday I received a text from my mom saying that my Nina's dog had passed away. Mimi was pretty much like a second family dog to all of us and of course I got very sad. But I know that she is in a better place now and at least I am thankful that I got to spend some time with her the day before she passed away.

So may you rest in peace Mimi and thank you for looking out for us when we were younger, for being such a great dog and companion. I will miss you!

What do you miss most about being a kid?

via

This picture pretty much sums it up. Being an adult can be really stressful with all the new responsibilities that we have, such as bills, worrying about our future, dating and blah blah blah. Back I was a child all I had to worry about was waking up early enough on Saturdays so I could watch my favorite cartoons.
Did you have a nickname growing up? What was it?

My family called me either Jessy or Jess. But in high school one of my friends started to call me "bubbles" ( I honestly do not remember why) so a couple of my other friends started to call me that. But it only lasted for like a year or so.

What was your favorite thing to do at recess?

via
I remember eating my lunch really fast so I could go and play hopscotch.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Oh gosh, I went through sooooo many phases. I wanted to be a teacher, then a vet, then a secretary, then my grandpa told me that I shouldn't be someone's secretary, I should have my OWN secretary. So now I want to be a big shot in the business world with a fantastic office that has an AMAZING view and an assistant like Ryan Reynolds. So pretty much I want to be like Sandra Bullock in 'The Proposal' except for the bitchy bad attitude part.

Did you participate in any school activities?

Soccer. It has always been a BIG part of my life.

What is the funniest thing you did as a kid that your parents still remind you about?

I've had A LOT of blonde moments during my life. Some of them I am not proud of, like the first time that my family was recording a family video to send to my aunts in Cali. Whenever the camera would focus on me I would stop and pose thinking it was a camera and they were taking pictures of me. In the video my Mom was telling me "Jessy don't pose, it's not a camera baby" and you can see me getting mad at my Mom for embarrassing me. Ugh wish I could go back and delete that scene FOREVER!

Homeless no more!

Okay, so just to clarify I have NEVER been homeless, it honestly just felt like that when I did not have a bedroom and I had to sleep on the sofa in the living room with ZERO privacy. But now that my brother has decided to move out of the house I can take over the room he was in. Well just in the meantime while what is going to be my actual room gets fixed, (the roof is leaking in a corner which has messed up a small section of the wall) My Dad is a workaholic and pretty much works every day but he said that he was gonna take a week off in September to fix my room. So I guess we will see if that actually happens, not that my Dad is not reliable (well maybe a little when it comes to fixing stuff) so please cross your fingers!!

I am sure some of you might be wondering "why not stay in the room you are in?" Well, the room that is going to be mine WAS mine before I moved out, so not only is it familiar but it is HUGE compared to the other two. I was able to fit:

a twin size bed
a bookshelf
a small sofa
a desk
a coffee table
a tv stand
a small vanity table
a big reading chair
my DVD stand

And in the room I am in I only have:

My bed
tv stand
dvd stand
reading chair

and that's pretty much everything that can fit without the room looking so crowded, so I am sure now it makes sense why I am so eager to have my old room back. Oh and PLUS it's close to the kitchen (yup, I am a fattie) AND has a door that leads to the backyard, so I sort of have a small patio. Ahhh! Just thinking about it makes me excited! And what's the best part about a new room? You get to start from scratch and redecorate it! I have a few styles that I have in mind:

SHABBY CHIC:
via
via
via
Shabby chic is all about the pastel colors, floral, and feminine vintage pieces.

VINTAGE:
via
via
via

It's a no brainer that for a Vintage bedroom you need vintage pieces, or at least vintage looking ones. The thing I love about Vintage is that you can go in SO MANY directions! You can pick an era in time (I would pick either the 1920's or 1950's) or even pick a theme like "The Great Gatsby" or "Breakfast at Tiffany's"
MODERN:

via
via
Add caption

A Modern room is all about 'unique" pieces, specially on furniture, it is also about patterns. You can mix and match bold patterns without them looking out of place.

Which look would YOU go for? And why?

Maybe with some input I will be able to pick a theme!

Sunday Social #51

What is something you've always wanted to do but are afraid of?

via
via
Where do you see yourself in five years?

Happily living my life. The past month has taught me that you CANNOT take ANYTHING for granted. So all I hope is that in five years I am happy, working, healthy and surrounded by love.

What are you looking forward to before the end of 2013?

I am REALLY looking forward to going to the corn maze and going ice skating. But I am DREADING the holidays, because I know they are going to be a bitter sweet :(

What are your hopes for your blog?

I hope that my blog continues to bring me happiness, continues to grow, and I continue to meet SOO many more amazing peeps :)

Do you always see yourself living in your current town/city?

No, I would love to live in either:

SEATTLE
OR
PORTLAND

What is your morning routine?

Depends on the morning. If I am getting up to go to work I just get up, get ready, make my bed and have some breakfast. If I am off, then the first thing I do is check my book and check all of my social medias :P

Blogging spot

I never really realized how important a space to just blog was. Back in my old apartment I used to either blog on my desk or in the living room. Those were the two spots where you would always find me writing a post. But now that I am at my parents I haven't found my blogging spot yet.

I still don't have a room of my own (well partially but I am still sleeping on the sofa and have only unpacked my clothes) so I have tried to blog in the living room but the dogs won't let me because all they want is for me to pet them and play with them. I have tried to blog from the dining room but it just feels weird and after a while the chair gets uncomfortable. I have tried to blog in the office but my Dad spends 80% of his time there that by the time he is not using it, all I want to do is just relax after a day of work or try to catch up on my shows. I have also tried to blog in the patio which was the WORST IDEA of my life! I got attacked by mosquitoes and of course the dogs wanted to be outside with me and play.

I have tried to blog from my phone and kindle but it is just not the same, besides, that's not the way Carrie Bradshaw did it. And I do not think it is the way it should be done anyways!

So my situation made me curious, where do you like to blog from? Do you have a specific space or can you do it from whenever?

I for once CANNOT freaking wait to FINALLY have a bedroom again, where I can finally have some privacy and be able to blog without being bothered :)

Jacy Lee Pulford [Guest Post]

Hey beauties!

I'm Jacy Lee Pulford, an author/artist from New England. I blog over at, well, a blog with the same name as mine and have a shop, well, with my name as well. You can call it lazy. I like to call it branding. This week I am on a blog tour to promote my new eBook "10 Blogging Etiquette Tips for Newbies" which is available right now for only $2.99. Blogging can be so much fun...am I right? As a new blogger, I've made a lot of mistakes. While someone might say it's fine, some mistakes had lasting effects on how readers interacted with my blog and with me.

This is why I'm passionate about blogging etiquette and the do's and don'ts of being a new blogger. Even if your blog is just for you and family, there is a code of conduct that should be learned. No worries, it's not rocket science. Back in March I wrote a blog post entitled "5 Blogging Etiquette Tips for Newbies" which is still one of my most popular posts ever in my three years of blogging. Do you know what this tells me? That you guys care too!

So I've compiled a list of 10 tips for newbie bloggers discussing how to behave in certain situations, using proper manners and even how to act towards other bloggers. Let's face it: people can be rude. Online or offline, it's the truth. Etiquette is about respect, politeness, integrity, honesty and trust among any and all groups of people. Etiquette is for everyone but just like anything, if you don't have it, you must learn it.

Here are some topics covered in the eBook:
- "Link to actual source"
- "Leave a comment, not a sales pitch"
- "You're not the gramma' police"
- "Respect personal lives"

You will learn how to hold yourself to a higher standard within the blogging community and what we "older" bloggers really think about how newbies behave. 17 pages packed with knowledge, real-life experiences and links to great resources.

Does this sound like a book you would love to read? Do you want a FREE copy? I'm giving away one free copy of the eBook to a lucky reader! Just use the Rafflecopter widget below to enter. I also have a BIG 15% discount code for my shop over on my Facebook page! Oh yeah, along with another giveaway where one Facebook fan will win a custom blog or business logo. Whoa. I know. So after you enter below, head on over to my page, like it and enter!

As a writer, I want to inspire hearts and enrich minds. I've been blessed and I want to bless others. God's love is so amazing, isn't it? I love how He can transform a life and turn ashes into beauty! That is what my next book project is about. A devotional featuring real-life stories from fellow believers about how "No One Will Ever Love You...{like Jesus does.}" It is because of His unselfish love that we have life and are able to love others.

So I will leave you with a prayer and hope that you will support this project:
Lord Jesus, thank you for allowing us the freedom to choose You. It is in our choice, in our own personal devotion that our relationship with you can grow deep. Let us be like the trees by the river; unmovable and rooted. Bless each reader on this blog. I pray we will put you first and learn to love and respect one another the way You love and respect us. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Sunday Social #50 PLUS a giveaway!

I am excited to announce that I am ready to start blogging on a regular basis again. I have my moments of sadness but they don't last as long as in the beginning. Probably because I have been trying to keep myself busy, which I honestly have. If I am not at work I am either out with my friends or out with my family. I am afraid that if I stop and have time alone that I am gonna break down, so I am just trying to avoid it. Besides I miss blogging and sharing my experience helped ease my pain so I am hoping that blogging will make me feel better. So to celebrate my return there is a giveaway at the end of this post so make sure you enter!

When you were little what did you want to be when you grew up?

Oh gosh, I went through sooooo many phases. I wanted to be a teacher, then a vet, then a secretary, then my grandpa told me that I shouldn't be someone's secretary, I should have my OWN secretary. So now I want to be a big shot in the business world with a fantastic office that has an AMAZING view and an assistant like Ryan Reynolds. So pretty much I want to be like Sandra Bullock in 'The Proposal' except for the bitchy bad attitude part.

What was your favorite way to kill time as a kid?

Watch cartoons or read. I used to read all the Ramona books over and over again!

via
When did you get your first cell phone?

I remember it as if i were yesterday. My sister is two years older than me, so when she was a freshman she wanted a phone. She told me her and my parents were gonna go look at phones the weekend I was supposed to spend at my Grandma's. I was upset of course but new I couldn't do anything about it. So anyways the day I came back from my Grandma's I opened my bedroom door and there on my bed was the box to my new cellphone with a little bow on top;. You can only imagine how FREAKING shocked/happy/excited I was!

What is your favorite magazine to read?

SEVENTEEN magazine and Cosmopolitan.

What is the one random object people would be surprised to find in your purse?

I can't think of anything random, I mean I have my make up bag, my kindle, my kindle charger, phone charger, wallet, lotion, hand sanitizer. See? Nothing random as far as I can tell!

The Godmother

Before we get to the actual post I just want to say thank you. It was very hard for me to write my last post, and to decide how much of my life I was willing to share, and I am proud and happy with the decision that I made. Not only did it help (A LOT) with the healing process, but also it made me feel loved. I received emails, comments, and tweets from different people showing their love and support. I truly felt touched, that people who do not know me in person, or do not truly know me told me to be strong and keep my head up high. It amazes me how some simple words of encouragement can chance a person's perspective. So once again, thank you to all those who gave me words of encouragement and love, they all brought tears of happiness into my life.

Saturday was also full of happy tears, as some of you may know (those who follow me on Instagram) on Saturday I become a Godmother -for the first time EVER!!-to this little boy:

He is my cousin (His Dad and my Mom are siblings) I am IN LOVE with him and felt truly honored that they asked me to be his Godmother. So Saturday became one of the most important days of my life, I made a promise to look after him, to guide him and to be there for him. And no matter what, I will keep my promise.

And of course I took a lot of pictures to remember this day forever:

He is my oldest cousin, I hadn't seem him in YEARS so I was very happy to see him!

So while this weekend was full of happiness and excitement it was also full of stress and crazyness! Which means that I am SOOOOOO ready for a little break.!

How was your weekend?
