What was your biggest middle school fashion mistake?

via

PLASTIC .CHOKER.NECKLACE

I wore that thing pretty much all of 7th grade, sometimes I would leave it on for days. It's not something I am proud of.

Who were your best friends in high school?

There was Lynette

There was Amanda

And there was Cindy

What was a typical weekend like for you in high school?

I would do something different each weekend, sometimes I would go to the movies, or to the arcade, or shopping or just plane window shopping. And when I had a boyfriend it would just depend on our mood, sometimes we would do stuff with his family or sometimes with mine.

Did you have any boyfriends/girlfriends?

I believe I had 2. One who lasted a couple of months and the other one who lasted almost 3 years. We started dating at the end of our Junior year and broke up our Freshman year of college.

Did you have any secret codes with your friends?

Haha of course! We had nick names for each other, for the guys that we liked and for the girls we hated!

If you could relive one day/moment/experience from middle school or high school, what would it be?

Mmmmm. I had a blast on each of my birthdays, they were all fun :) But I also had a blast when my family and I went to Disneyland and my friend Stephanie tagged along! It was such a blast!!

I have the blues...

Summer blues that is! I'm a winter baby (since I was born in February) but Summer has always had my heart. I love summer time,  everything from the weather, to the activities (pool parties, cook outs, late night ice cream runs) to the clothes! From maxi dresses, to skirts, to shorts, to tank-tops, to bathing suits!!

via
I know it is "technically" still winter but I CANNOT wait for summer! Or spring even, I just want to stop wearing scarfs, and coats and boots. Not that I don't enjoy wearing them, but it's just not my style. I can honestly say that I do knot know how to dress during winter, sometimes I don't have enough layers and some times I have waaay too many, but with summer I can wear a dress and sandals and I am good to go!

So when Maurices started to release its Spring Collection I was ECSTATIC!! I probably spent a little bit more than I should have but I was just so excited to see bright colors again :) Here is what I got!

I did it! And it feels so good.

When I used to live with my parent's I had it made, I had a huge room, a good job and the only bill I had was my phone. So I pretty much had a lot of money to go out, to go shopping, and to afford a gym membership and gas to drive to said gym.

But ever since I moved out I started spending all my money on rent, the electric, cable and internet, and the list goes on and on. So since I moved out I had to make some adjustments, and getting rid of my gym membership was one of them, along with learning how to cook. So not exercising on top of eating fast food because I was lazy to cook just made me gain weight. I don't know exactly how much weight I gained because after I couldn't fit into my jeans anymore I was scared to look.

I'm not saying that I am unhappy with the way I look, I'm just not used to it. I'm not used to being so out of shape and not being able to run 5-6 miles in an hour at the gym, that's what makes me sad. I love running, it helps me clear my mind and that is how I used to release some stress. So today for the first time in almost two years I went to the gym at school after yoga and stepped on a treadmill.

The one machine that I used to know like the back of my hand seemed so foreign, it took me a second to remember how to work it. But after  as soon as I took that first step I felt happiness flow through my veins, it may sound silly but its true. I am going to start slow and go to the cardio room whenever I get a chance, I want to get my pace back and be able to run and just keep on running without almost fainting.

If you remember I set this as one of my 13 New Years Resolutions (which you can read about here) I haven't forgotten about them and I am continuing to make them happen :) so wish me luck guys!

Sunday Social #27

What is the best Valentine's Day you've ever had?

I've never had one of those Valentines that you see in chick flicks, with the whole rose petals all over the floor and the surprise dinner. Instead I've had a lot of wonderful yet simple Valentines days with good people. I can't pick the best one because they are all special in their own way♥

What is the worst Valentine's Day you've ever had?

None, even if I was single I still managed to enjoy the day.

What did you do for Valentine's this year?

My gifts
My boyfriend and I cooked dinner, and rented "The Perks of Being a Wallflower." We both had a lot of homework due that day so it's even a miracle that we did something.

What is your best Valentine's idea if you're single?

Obviously I just stated that I wasn't single, but the times that I have been during Valentine's day I have managed to do something. I've had dinner with a friend, or gone to the movies, or have spent it with my mom. You don't have to be in a relationship to have a good Valentines day

What is your favorite Valentine's candy?

via

Candy? None. But chocolate I would have to say Hershey's kisses :)

Favorite Valentine's memory from your childhood?

It was my sixth year of Elementary school, I received sooooo many Valentines cards and chocolates and it was also the first year I had a boyfriend so that made it extra special.

I hope you ALL had a wonderful Valentines day :)

L.O.V.E.

Happy Valentine's Day to all of my lovely readers!

Hope you all have a LOVELY day filled with joy and love.

My boyfriend and I decided not to do anything big for Valentines Day, otherwise we would be broke. I mean we had had Christmas in December, his birthday was last month, and my birthday is this month. So we just decided to give each other a good birthday present that would also count for Valentines day.

So this morning I was surprised to find a little something something from my boyfriend on our coffee table. He bought me a box of chocolates and a card. The message on the card was just soo sweet that it actually made me cry. I am not kidding, it just touched my heart, I hope that I do not sound too cheesy when I say this but I love my boyfriend with all my heart and would love to spend the rest of my life with him, and the fact that he thinks that our love is a blessing well, that just made me the happiest girl ever.

First of all the fact that the card is in Spanish made me happy (Spanish is my first language) and the fact that my boyfriend said he had to read it like 4-5 times to understand it (the silly goose did not know that the cards are translated on the back of the card) made me smile. But what I loved was what the card said.

via
The front of the card says: "Our love is a blessing, you have no idea how many times I asked God to send me someone special."

The inside of the card says: "And he blessed me with your love. That is why I never get tired of giving thanks for everything that we had shared.. and everything that has yet to come. I love you"

He is such a sweetheart! Small things like this just made my day and melt my heart away (hey that rhymed!)

Namaste

I have always been all about a good work out, that's why I LOVED playing soccer. Some days we would work on conditioning and some others we would just work on our foot skills, but in every single practice we always ran at least 5 miles. Which now seem like A LOT since I am so out of shape :(

Last Thursday I was talking to one of my co-workers (who also happens to go to the same college as me) about my current  lack of exercise. She mentioned how she takes yoga classes at school,  and if you are a a full time student all you gotta do is  show your ID and you would get in for free. I have always wanted to do yoga but I have always been hesitant to spend a lot of money on it, I mean the cheapest plan I could find was $15 per session (one hour session) and that was just too much for a broke college student.

So I decided to go with her to her Friday yoga class. And let me tell you something, after only one class I got hooked. I LOVE it! I have never felt so relaxed in my life, plus I stretched some muscles that I didn't realize I had. I just finished my 4th class today and I feel amazing. Not only do I find inner peace and get a killer work out, but I also get this:

via

I hope to accomplish the second pose (with the girl) by the end of the year btw :)

We do different poses everyday which is great because we work on different parts of our body, and after each class we  say "Namaste" to our teacher. I never knew what it meant and I never really cared to find out until now.

"The gesture Namaste represents the belief that there is a Divine spark within each of us that is located in the heart chakra. The gesture is an acknowledgment of the soul in one by the soul in another. Nama means bow, as means I, and te means you. Therefore, namaste literally means "bow me you" or "I bow to you." For a teacher and student, Namaste allows two individuals to come together energetically to a place of connection and timelessness, free from the bonds of ego-connection. " -via
Wow, how deep is that? LOVE it!

Sunday Social #26`

Before we get to today's Sunday Social I would like to say that I am sorry things have been quite around the blog, this whole week was just B-A-N-A-N-A-S ! Yesterday I finished a 40+ hour work week, plus I had school work on top of that. I am amazed I actually had the time to visit my mother after her leg surgery on Wednesday.

Just keep in mind that I am not complaining, I feel blessed that I have a job (that I  ABSOLUTELY love) AND that I am going to school (and that this is my last year of college) I am just  letting you all know that sometimes (even tho I REALLY do not want to) I will get too busy to blog. I hope that you will understand and not get mad, I have a life too you know.
So please don't go anywhere because I am not. I am not going to stop blogging for good, (EVER!!)

Okay, enough of that... let's get our Sunday Social on!

What was your first car?
via

I still have my first car, it's a 2009 Blue Honda Civic Sedan. It was my sister's for a year and then was passed down to me when my sister moved away to Oakland, California.
via

And I actually named my car Jewel after Jewel from Rio. :)
Who was your favorite childhood teacher?

I've had a lot of good teachers, here are my 5 favorite teachers of all time!

Monica-Kindergarten
Idalia- 1st & 2nd grade
Patty-4th grade
Esparza-  7th grade math teacher
Miss Mena- 10th & 11th grade history teacher

Were you involved in any sports/extracurricular activities?

I played soccer outside of school, wish I could share pictures with you but  I don't think I have any :(

What was your favorite birthday party?

I had to call my Mom and ask her which birthday party she thought was my favorite,  and according to her it was my 4th birthday. She says that I really loved it because ALL of my cousins were there and also because it was 'Barney' themed, you remember Barney? Big purple dinosaur who made kids use  their imagination & have fun OUTSIDE without using technology. Those were the good old days.

And speaking of birthdays.....

Who was your teen celebrity crush?

via

Jesse McCartney, he was such a cutie!
What show/movie did your parents not allow you to watch?

via
I thought they were cartoons, but my Mom told me that they were for adults and I was not allowed to watch it because they said bad words and they were a bad influence.

And now that I can watch them I've been a couple of episodes and the movie. Not a big fan, I rather watch is Family guy.

If you were stuck on an island what are the two material items you would want to have?

I'm currently watching Sex and the City, which I have seen like a MILLION times! I can also watch How I Met Your Mother over and over again!

If your house was on fire what two things aside from family, pets, etc would you grab?

I wish I could save all of my clothes! haha just kidding (but no really) I would say this picture of my mom and I when I was maybe 4 and my harry potter books!

What are your two most favorite articles of clothing?

I don't play favorites with my clothes,  just like parents don't play favorite with their children (I hope) Besides it all depends on my mood or what new items I just bought. for example I CANNOT wait to wear this top:

with this new necklace :)
