Sunday Social #33

Hope you all have a wonderful day with friends and family! This is the first Easter I will not be spending it with my family, I am a little sad but I guess that is part of growing up. So instead I will be spending it with my boyfriend, we are gonna have our own Easter hunt :)

Anyways on to today's Sunday Social! Today's post is all about random questions. Enjoy

What is your favorite type of workout to do?

via

Yoga!!! believe it or not yoga gives you a good work out, I do these poses pretty much every class. They look easy but trust me they are not! Aside from  giving you a good work out it also helps you become stronger by using your OWN body, and of course it helps your flexibility.

What is your favorite guilty pleasure candy or sweet?

via

This would be my PERFECT guilty pleasure! It's an ice cream sandwich cake with M&M's!!
What is one thing you continuously forget to do?

One thing? Let's just change that to A LOT! I am constantly forgetting things :( My boyfriend gives me a hard time because of it. What a jerk!

Do you prefer post-its or phone reminders? Why?

I use post-its at work and my phone for pretty much everything else, I tend to lose things so I know I would lose the post-its, that is why I put it on my phone because I would never lose that thing. I can honestly say that I would be lost without it.

What is your favorite picture currently on your phone that always makes you smile?

I actually have 3. These two kids make the funniest faces! I heart these kiddos :]

Shooting 2 birds with one stone

Today I have two things to celebrate. The most important thing is my Daddy's birthday! He turns 54 today.
I wish I had old pictures of him and I to share with you guys, but of course last time I went to visit my parents I forgot to look through my Mom's photo albums and take pictures of the pictures lol. So I will just share the ones I have.

My Dad is just incredible, he makes me want to strive for more. My Grandparents didn't have enough money to put him through college, so he did it himself. He joined the Navy, while getting his degree. Thanks to the Navy and his jobs he has been all over the world! From China, to Spain, to Germany, to Brazil! Thanks to those travels I know have hundreds of coins and bills from all over the world, places that one day I hope I get to visit as well.

I love my Dad and thank him for everything he has taught me and everything he has done for me. Although I just turned 22 I'm still his little girl :)

And now to the other celebration, today also marks my official ONE year anniversary at my job :] I must admit it went by pretty fast, but I guess that is what happens when you are having fun. I love my job and couldn't be happier to be there. Aside from helping people look INCREDIBLE and making new friends at work I get a killer discount that helps me look FABULOUS!

Unfortunately I worked today so I didn't see my Dad but I will see him on Sunday when we get together for Easter. And I have yet to decide on what to get him. Any suggestions would be helpful!

What is your favorite thing about spring?

The fashion....shorts, sandals, tank-tops, dresses. The outdoor activities. Blooming flowers. Sunshine. Birds Singing. Fresh air. Easter. Spring break. April showers. Nice cool breeze.

What is your favorite kind of flower to grow or receive?

I love going to my Grandma's garden and seeing all the pretty flowers,

last time I went she had this beautiful rose bush that had started blooming since December! I love roses cuz they are pretty and smell so good! :)

What is your favorite nail polish color?

via

During spring I like to wear pastel colors or

with flower designs.

What is your favorite outdoor activity?

via

This year I am going to try and grow my own veggies! I have always loved plants but  since I lived with my parents my Mom did the gardening, but now that I have my own place I can do it myself :)
Do you have any fun spring plans?

I am not going anywhere for Spring Break, my Momma and I will be going on vacation during the Summer., So the only thing I have planned for the Spring is celebrating Easter with my family and perhaps having a few cook outs here and there.

What is your favorite thing to do on a rainy day?

There is nothing like the smell of rain, the comfiness of a couch and a good book :)

What is your favorite thing to do on a summer weekend?

To me the whole summer is a long weekend! I try to do as much as I can during the summer, I like going on road trips, to have cook outs, to go swimming. To lay under the sun. To ride my bike, to go hiking. So pretty much to do as many outside activities as I can!

What is your favorite spring activity?

Spring? Please! In Texas and South of New Mexico we go from winter to summer.!

What is your favorite way to spend a winter day?

Inside! Lol. Staying as warm, and cozy as possible. Possibly drinking hot chocolate and making smores!

What is your favorite season and why?

Summer!Duh!! Like I have said before I LOVE summer because of the weather, the endless possibilities of the things you can do and of course the fashion! I rather wear a cute dress than jeans, and boots, and a sweater, and a coat, and a scarf and mittens...

What is the best birthday you ever had?

I think I have mentioned it before, but the more I think about it the more my answer changes. So let's just say that ALL of my birthdays have been the bomb :)

MEET SHELBY [SPONSOR L♥VE]

Hope everyone is having a Terrific Tuesday! Today we have lovely Shelby, she blogs over at Chasing Birdies. She is taking over the blog to introduce herself, soooooo take it away girl!

Tell me a little bit about yourself

Hey there, I'm Shelby! I'm 18 years old, and I'm a high school senior in the Midwest. If you asked me to describe myself, I'd probably tell you that I'm an avid golfer, a perfectionist, and a very hardworking student. All in all, I'm really just a normal teenage girl trying to find her place in the world.

I've had the same best friends since I was seven years old and a family that is always there to support me. I’m looking forward to blogging about my adventures as I begin my freshman year of college in the fall!

What/who inspired you to start blogging?

About a year and a half ago, a good friend of mine told me he had started a blog. I've always been a creative person, so blogging struck an interest in me immediately! After reading a few of his posts, I decided to start my own. And the rest is history.

Where can we find you?

What kind of posts can we find on your blog?

Oh goodness, I blog about anything and everything! I mostly focus on my life and the obstacles I’m facing, whether it is with school, friends, or relationships. Occasionally you can find beauty and fashion posts, and don’t forget about golf. I love golf.

What are you loving at the moment?

I love New Girl and the Mindy Project on Tuesday nights, and of course Nashville on Wednesdays. I love my Burt’s Bees pink grapefruit lip balm, and my Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquer (which I have in way to many colors). I love my friends and family who are always there for me, and I love blogging!

Do you have anything special going on with your blog?

My Small Business Giveaway, which features seven Etsy shop owners and their amazing prizes, will go live on March 10th! Be sure to stop by and enter. If you’re interested in sponsoring Chasing Birdies, you can use the promo code BIRD to receive 30% off!

And finally, what advice would you give other bloggers?

I will be the first to tell you I’m no expert when it comes to blogging. After nearly two years, however, I do have just a few tips that will be especially helpful to those of you who are new to the blogosphere!

-          Make sure your blog has a design and layout that is both functional and pleasing to the eye. I hate to say that blog design matters, but its true! First impressions may make the difference in whether or not someone sticks around to read your post.

-          Social media is one of the BEST ways to gain new followers! Most people use their twitter and facebook much more often than they do a blog reader, so it is extremely effective to share your blog posts on those websites. I was late in the game joining twitter and facebook, but now that I have them, it has made all the difference!

-          It’s cliché but I have to say it: be yourself. If you are genuine, honest, and write about things you are passionate about, your readers will be able to see that in your writing. Don’t try to be exactly like the blogger who has 2000 followers.

Thank you so much, Jessica, for having me here on your blog today! I’m so happy I could do this interview.

************************************************************************************

It was such a pleasure having you Shelby! Make sure to stop by her blog and say hi! Let her know I sent you :)

Sunday Social #30

What is one movie you are terrified to watch?
Honestly? ANY scary movie. I refuse to pay money to get scared to death every five minutes, it is pointless to me. Not only that but they are not pretty to watch, I hate seeing blood and guts all over the place.

What is one TV show you have always wanted to get into but haven't yet?

Glee. I can't stand it #sorrynotsorry

What is one daring activity on your bucket list?

It would depend on what you think is daring,  a lot of people would say that
via

^^this is daring and they are not wrong, it is. BUT I think
via

^^this is just a little bit more daring! You never know where you are going, or what you are gonna be doing there and what's gonna happen. The thrill of not knowing and of the unexpected is more daring to me.
Would you ever travel alone?

I am not a big fan of doing things alone, I have never eaten alone or gone to the movies by myself. But I can manage to shop by myself, so I guess maybe one day I could travel by myself. It might even be fun! :)

What activities do you like to do alone?

Reading. It's the one activity that I CANNOT see myself doing with anyone else, I don't know how people who are in book clubs do it. I don't want to know how someone else interpreted a scene or how they think a character looks like to them. And whatever else they discuss during book clubs, I like to think I am having an affair with each and one of my books and only discuss them here and there. I don't read and tell ;)

Another thing I could never do would be running with someone else, we all have our pace. To me running is not about the distance, it's more about the feeling.
