Homeless no more!

Okay, so just to clarify I have NEVER been homeless, it honestly just felt like that when I did not have a bedroom and I had to sleep on the sofa in the living room with ZERO privacy. But now that my brother has decided to move out of the house I can take over the room he was in. Well just in the meantime while what is going to be my actual room gets fixed, (the roof is leaking in a corner which has messed up a small section of the wall) My Dad is a workaholic and pretty much works every day but he said that he was gonna take a week off in September to fix my room. So I guess we will see if that actually happens, not that my Dad is not reliable (well maybe a little when it comes to fixing stuff) so please cross your fingers!!

I am sure some of you might be wondering "why not stay in the room you are in?" Well, the room that is going to be mine WAS mine before I moved out, so not only is it familiar but it is HUGE compared to the other two. I was able to fit:

a twin size bed
a bookshelf
a small sofa
a desk
a coffee table
a tv stand
a small vanity table
a big reading chair
my DVD stand

And in the room I am in I only have:

My bed
tv stand
dvd stand
reading chair

and that's pretty much everything that can fit without the room looking so crowded, so I am sure now it makes sense why I am so eager to have my old room back. Oh and PLUS it's close to the kitchen (yup, I am a fattie) AND has a door that leads to the backyard, so I sort of have a small patio. Ahhh! Just thinking about it makes me excited! And what's the best part about a new room? You get to start from scratch and redecorate it! I have a few styles that I have in mind:

SHABBY CHIC:

Shabby chic is all about the pastel colors, floral, and feminine vintage pieces.

VINTAGE:

It's a no brainer that for a Vintage bedroom you need vintage pieces, or at least vintage looking ones. The thing I love about Vintage is that you can go in SO MANY directions! You can pick an era in time (I would pick either the 1920's or 1950's) or even pick a theme like "The Great Gatsby" or "Breakfast at Tiffany's"
MODERN:

A Modern room is all about 'unique" pieces, specially on furniture, it is also about patterns. You can mix and match bold patterns without them looking out of place.

Which look would YOU go for? And why?

Maybe with some input I will be able to pick a theme!
